Fruška Gora is home to many interesting locations, whether they are buildings, historical sites, or specific landscapes. Often, many of these places will unexpectedly appear to you while you are on your way to a planned Fruška Gora destination.
Fruška Gora has 16 artificial lakes. Of these, 13 were purposefully constructed accumulations for irrigation and preventing flooding of arable land. Eleven lakes are suitable and safe for visiting. Lakes such as Beli Kamen and Ledinačko were formed by unplanned flooding of mining pits. Most of the lakes are stocked with fish, suitable for sports fishing, and attract nature lovers.
Fruška Gora has five waterfalls, formed where streams break and create the longest free falls of water. They should not be compared to larger waterfalls, as the tallest is about five meters high. These waterfalls are a kind of attraction on this small mountain.
Fruška Gora is home to a monastic complex, largely restored in the 18th century, representing a unique cultural-historical entity of Serbian Baroque art. The monasteries laid the foundations of cultural tradition and remained the only centers of culture and education during the difficult times of Turkish occupation, contributing to the preservation of the national identity and consciousness of Serbs.
The monasteries are where books are written, copied, gilded, and decorated, and where architecture and painting are nurtured and maintained. There are 17 Orthodox monasteries located around Fruška Gora, built in the late 15th and during the 16th century. Due to the large number of monasteries in one place, Fruška Gora has earned the epithet "Serbian Athos".
