If you want to spend a weekend in a natural setting with family, camp with friends, or simply enjoy the beautiful nature, numerous excursions on Fruška Gora await you. Most excursion spots are well-maintained and located near roads, cultural and historical landmarks, and catering facilities.
Iriški Venac is the most famous mountain pass and intersection on Fruška Gora. The highest pass in Vojvodina, it connects Partizanski Put and the main road Ruma – Novi Sad, linking Novi Sad, about 20 kilometers away, with southern parts of the country (Srem, Mačva). At the intersection, there are a gas station, a restaurant, and a camping area. Close to Partizanski Put, heading west, there are numerous spots for excursions and camping. East of Iriški Venac, you’ll find the Sloboda monument, a TV tower, and the "Norcev" hotel.
Stražilovo is a peak on Fruška Gora, at an elevation of 321 meters. This well-known excursion site is located four kilometers from Sremski Karlovci and is significant due to the grave of the famous Serbian poet Branko Radičević. It’s a popular spot for relaxation and nature gatherings, especially among the youth and artists. The Brankov Čardak resort features a restaurant and accommodation, with a statue of Radičević set in the central meadow.
This small excursion site near Crveni Čot is somewhat overshadowed by the nearby Letenka and Jabuka sites. Camping and open fires are not allowed here, but it’s ideal for a short break, located next to Partizanski Put, featuring the Kraljevac spring for refreshment. The site is not well-marked, so pay attention to the yellow arrow sign that reads "Spring".
In the highest parts of Fruška Gora, numerous excursion spots come alive in early spring and continue to attract nature lovers until the cooler autumn days. One such spot is Zmajevac, offering one of the most beautiful views of Srem, especially in the evening when streetlights in nearby areas begin to glow. This site is equipped with many wooden benches and tables, some sheltered like summer houses, blending perfectly with the environment. There are also stone grills available for barbecue preparation. Zmajevac is located at the intersection of Partizanski Put and the Vrdnik–Rakovac road. Nearby are Iriški Venac and Ledinačko Lake, accessible via forest paths.
Located in the central part of Fruška Gora, Letenka is one of the most famous and largest excursion sites, ideal for lovers of fresh mountain air and recreation.
Jabuka is situated along Partizanski Put, between Letenka and Crveni Čot, marked by a wooden sign. This site is located on a gently rolling plateau with sparse yet spacious canopies. At the center stands a memorial stone dedicated to the formation of the 8th Vojvodina Assault Brigade in 1941. Jabuka is scattered with randomly placed wooden tables and benches. A dirt path leads to a spring.
Popov Čot is located beside Partizanski Put, just before the turnoff for Grgurevci, marked by a wooden sign. Recently, a mountain ethno-house with a fenced yard has been built here, complemented by a traditional Vojvodina summer house. The yard features scattered tables and benches for relaxation, and a children's corner is available. Following the path that leads to the peak takes you to a former quarry, where you can find the entrance to Grgureva Cave.
Borkovac is an ideal spot for relaxation and recreation for residents of nearby areas, especially Ruma. Due to its expansive area and lush vegetation, this site can be considered the lungs of the region. Several restaurants, cafes, and a hotel surrounded by pine forests are available here. You can enjoy walking along the stream or jogging on the fitness trail with colorful wooden exercise equipment. Plans are underway for both indoor and outdoor Olympic swimming pools. The site is especially popular during events like dog shows, painting colonies, and the traditional May Day celebration. It is located just a few kilometers from Ruma, next to Borkovačko Lake, with Pavlovci Lake and the Novo and Staro Hopovo monasteries a little further away. It is only 10 kilometers from the Belgrade–Zagreb highway.
Astali, or Stolovi, is a small excursion site hidden in a thicket near Partizanski Put. This place also serves as a checkpoint for the Fruška Gora marathon KT02.
